How Solar Works For Your Home

A solar panel works by converting sunlight “photon energy” into direct current “DC” electricity. Solar panels are most commonly mounted to your roof in a northern direction to take in the most sunlight. These panels are connected to an Inverter which is normally mounted to an external wall on your house.  This Inverter converts DC current from the panels to usable AC current providing your whole house with free energy from the sun.

Solar panels will still produce energy in overcast conditions and you can draw extra power from the grid if needed.  If there is more power being generated from your solar panels than what you’re using this excess power will be measured, fed into the grid, and reimbursed back to you in the form of credit against your electricity bill.

Our most popular Systems

Our 6.6kw – 10kw system are perfect for m/high power consumers.

Most of our customers that choose 6-10kw systems say their power bills are reduced down to zero or even better, have credits.

Our most popular Inverters.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The inverters we have chosen are of the highest quality and efficiency.    The choice of inverter comes down to your budget and what best suites your needs.                     Our most popular brands we offer are Fronius, Solar Edge, Sungrow and Goodwe.  If you are thinking of purchasing a battery down the track then its best to start with a battery ready inverter like a Fronius Gen24 or Sungrow SH5-RS.

Why we recommend larger array systens                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               We recommend going larger than you may need as the government STC incentive reduces the cost of each panel installed.                                                                                               (The more panels, the greater STC incentive).

The extra solar capacity will help future proof your investment as you may decide on purchasing a Battery or  Electric vehicle at a future date.                                                      The 2 most popular solar array sizes are 6.6kw (16x415w) and 10.79kw (26x415w) using top of the line Jinko N-Type panels with a 25-year warranty against defects.

Stiebel Eltron Heat Pumps                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     If you have electric hot water, we recommend converting to a heat pump from Stiebel Eltron as these heat pumps are made in Germany and of the highest quality and efficiency.  They operate on just 550w of power making them 6x more efficient than a 315ltr Electric hot water tank with a 3.6kw element.

We can also set the Stiebel units up so they take the excess solar generated instead of wasted solar energy to the grid.  Fronius inverters have this feature as standard.
The cost of replacing your electric hot water is very low as generous government rebates greatly offset the supply/install cost.  We will also give you a discount if you choose Solar and a heat pump combo.
